Thread  Lift  Center

A PDO (polydioxanone) Thread Lift is a minimally invasive alternative to a surgical facelift. The threads are inserted and anchored into different areas of the skin, instantly lifting and tightening sagging skin. This treatment is also designed to promote collagen production and neovascularization to renew your skin at the cellular level.

What is a PDO Thread Lift?

How to prepare for a
treatment

  • Are all PDO Thread Lifts the same?
There are several different types of threads that can be used. Your specific type of thread will depend on the areas that you are targeting and what you want to achieve. For example, cog threads are most commonly used to lift sagging tissue around the jaw and neck in order to improve the patient’s profile. Whereas screw or mesh threads can be used for increasing volume in areas such as the cheeks, undereye, and folds around the mouth. This can also create a lift in the facial tissues. Screw or Mesh Threads can also be used for decreasing wrinkling in all areas of the face. An advantage over fillers is that threads also promote skin tightening and collagen production.
  • What areas can benefit from a PDO thread?
PDO treatments can be used on many areas of the face including the cheeks, brow, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jawline and neck. It can also be used on the body, arms, thighs and abdomen. A consultation will help determine which areas are best for you.
  • How long does a PDO thread lift procedure take?
This will depend on the area being targeted, but normally it can be completed in under an hour. You should also factor in about an hour for preparation and time following the treatment.
  • Does it hurt?
This treatment is minimally invasive. Patients are given a local anesthetic before their treatment to ensure that they remain comfortable and relaxed throughout.
  • We recommend waiting at least 3 weeks before a big event.

  • Smoking and alcohol must be avoided for at least one week before the procedure.

  • Avoid omega fish oils, vitamin E for at least two days before the treatment.

  • Avoid Aspirin-based products, like Naproxen, Advil and Ibuprofen. These medicines can cause side effects and complications.  Tylenol is preferred.

  • Avoid planning on performing high-intensity exercises for 72 hours after your procedure if getting treatment with cog threads.
